Restricted performance means the computer system is seeing a fault and when this happens it places the system into fail safe mode which is the restricted performance. P0171 & P0174 Restricted Performance (Resolved) I got the dreaded Restricted Performance message on the way back from the Tan Hill meet. Car goes into limp mode and wont go past 3k rpm. I few things I noticed, the earth behind the headlight sheered off when I touched it, so this was renewed.
