It does a lot of damage up close, can kill most things very quickly and it is quite common so ammo is plentiful. Acquired in Chapter 3 along with the Hand Gun. It's secondary function is really nice, it does 2x the damage for 2x the ammo, which can eliminate most enemies, or bring them down to low health.
